Timber Species, Finishes & Fixings

Timber Selection

If we can source it and turn it, and if it is harvested in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, we can get it for you. You can even send us that special piece of timber, or an off-cut, from your current building works.

We do not have a standard range of timber species. However, the chart below shows some of the most popular ( we strive to ensure all of our timber is PEFC or FSC-certified or recycled timber, which would otherwise be discarded ). We can select timber to suit your specific requirements, but we would never guarantee a colour match as timber is a natural material, and every piece is unique.

The beauty of natural timber is the quirks, the blemishes and the variations - each piece is a work of art, a treasure and a very special part of our natural world.

Please find out more about particular species in our journal, IN-MATERIAL.

Timber Finishes

Our timber handles can be finished in a range of standard interior grade clear protective finishes to a range of gloss levels.

  • Clear Interior Grade Finish | Gloss, Satin or Matte

Alternatively, we can supply your handles RAW for finishing by your joiner or painter.

Fixings

Our handles can be fixed in several different configurations, and are supplied with fixings to suit the desired option.

  • Handles supplied as full 'unsplit' circles, can be installed on door and drawer fronts, face fixed (wall hook), or back-to-back.
  • Handles supplied as 'split' circles are typically provided with fixings suitable for door or drawer installation only.
